Salomon Doncel, PhD, is a translator, language educator, and researcher specializing in linguistics, translation, and otaku culture. His current research examines the impact of the otaku community on professional translation approaches in manga and anime. Some of his most notable translation works include the manga Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso, Nijigahara Holograph, and Koe no Katachi; the anime Sailor Moon Cosmos y Sailor Moon Eternal, Detective Conan, and Lupin III; the live-action series Yu Yu Hakusho; and the movies Godzilla 1.0 and Ultraman Rising.
