Salomon Doncel, PhD, is a translator, language educator and researcher in the field of language linguistics, translation and otakuology. His current research focuses on the impact of the otaku community on the turnover of professional translation approaches in manga and anime. Some of his most relevant translation works are manga Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso, Nijigahara Holograph, and Koe no Katachi, and anime Sailor Moon Eternal, Detetive Conan and Lupin III.
